Antarctica

Mt. Vinson

Rates: $28,950.00

The continent of Antarctica truly is one of the last great frontiers on earth. Our adventure to the "the ice" is an amazing climbing expedition with most of the adventure taking place during the trip to the mountain! Mount Vinson (16,067feet, 4,897meters) is the highest peak on the Antarctic continent and is located 600 miles from the South Pole. Climbing Vinson, can be equated to a "mini" Mt. McKinley expedition, demanding and breathtakingly scenic, yet shorter in length.

Note: six climber limit.

Culture & Sightseeing

Punta Arenas is a fascinating and unique town complete with many interesting sights and sounds. We'll spend the better part of two days in Punta Arenas, organizing our gear and preparing for our climb. You'll have an opportunity to sample it's lovely restaurants, see the Magellan Penguins, and stroll past the historic buildings of downtown.

This is a moderate nontechnical climb. With that said, Vinson is a land of extremes. You should have solid previous winter mountaineering experience and be familiar with the use of ice axe, crampons, and rope travel.
